Ian Gilchrist

Ian Gilchrist studied Applied Physics and Electronics at Glasgow College in 1990, he went on to Graduate from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1994 when he was awarded a BSC in Instrumentation with Applied Physics.
Ian began his career as an Electronic Engineer specialising within the Mobile Communications sector, gaining more than 14 years experience; and worked for a number of Blue Chip sector companies including 5 years with Motorola as a Senior Repair Engineer / Trainer.
Ian held various Senior Management positions within the Mobile Phone Repair Industry since 1994 specialising mainly in Technician Training, Continual Improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
In 1994, Ian joined TRS Glasgow as Engineering Training Manager and over the his 14 years of employment was finally promoted to Head of Engineering in 2006, in recognition of his contribution growing the business from 25 staff in 1995 to over 750 staff in 2006.
